From the Bench
Paper & Pen to Metal & Glass
I work primarily in metal and enamel, but my work spans across materials. Everything moves in phases, starting with what's in the heart. Sketching, prototyping, and fabricating, I am using various methods such as forming, soldering, carving, raising, and forging. The core of my practice is cloisonné enameling—a technique that involves bending small wires into the desired shape, and applying them to a metal surface to be fused by a thin coat of enamel—melted within a kiln, or by torch-fire.
Everything I make is by hand, heart, and mind.
